Do you know about sudden bruising in children?

Our 2 year old niece is hospitalized at the moment with a mystery illness. She bruises instantly at the touch of a finger, and the bruises disappear overnight. Just sleeping on her side makes her wake up in the morning with a swollen face, huge black eyes, etc. She also has severe joint pain.

The doctors and specialists (pediatric hematologist) are baffled! Platelet count, organ sizes, CAT scan, full body X-ray, vital signs are all normal. Child abuse and hemophilia are ruled out. They tested for Von Willebrand but the results take a week to come back.

Please, any suggestions will help!

I really don't want to say this, but it kinda sounds like luekimia, it is often detected by sudden bruises, and things of the sort. but it might not be, in luekimia patients, the bruises usually don't go away for a long time.
