Does zinc get rid of the white spots on your nails? |
i read in this book that those white spots on your nails are the effect of lack of zinc. I'm not sure if it's up to date. Well, thanks! I mean the white specks Yes, it is caused by a zinc deficiency. No, the white half moons on the nails mean you are healthy, and zinc will not get rid of them. It's also great for your hair! the white spots can be a number of things, mostly it is not eating right sometimes from damage, but no i havent seen them being corrected by zinc or zinc oxide. I have been doing nails for 25 years and neither will work I don't know, but when I was in jr. high school, those little half moons were considered love detectors. If you had them, it meant you had a huge crush on someone. I must have stayed in love. I realize now that it was some vitamins missing but a grew up pretty strong and was pretty handy with the girlies too so............. Nothing can get rid of spots already there although they can be masked with polish. They will grow out in time. A number of conditions can cause them, including lack of zinc. If you're on a low protein or vegetarian diet then you may be deficient in zinc, Otherwise zinc is unlikely to help. Taking zinc supplements will not necessarily get rid of the white spots on nails. |
