Can zinc oxide creme protect the eye from UV radiation if applied to the lids? |
I read that UV rays from the sun can penatrate the eyelid and cause damage. I have tried tanning goggles but they always leave marks and I look like I have been to a tanning bed. Can zinc oxide applied to the eyelid provide sufficient UV protection while outdoor tanning or is anything needed at all while tanning under the sun? Yes, zinc oxide has very high protective properties against both UVB and UVA. The sunblock I used contains 18.5% zinc oxide and works fine. It's called Obagi Sunblock (SPF32). |
