Is taking zinc vitamin safe for heart bypass people?

i have already done 4 heart by pass 5 yrs ago...is it safe for me to take zinc vitamin

YOU HAD BETTER ASK YOUR CARDIOLOGIST.

Speak to your Dr. or Pharmacist... no one on here should be considered a credible source.

Zinc is one of the least toxic of the trace elements. Zinc supplements in large amounts (for example, 70 to 100 times the recommended amount) may cause diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and vomiting, usually occurring within 3 to 10 hours of ingestion of the supplements. The symptoms diminish within a short period of time after the discontinuation of the supplements.

As you can see, if you take the normal amount, you should experience few problems. It is a good idea to talk with your doctor first before adding any supplement to your diet, but zinc is probably one of the safest you can take.
