My friend invited me to Ghana. When was I suppose to receive my Yellow Fever shot? I haven't had it.?

I just decided this December to go to Ghana with my friends. I've never been out of the country so I didn't know I needed a VISA until this afternoon.
Along with the VISA I need the 'Yellow Fever' shot.
When was I suppose to get that shot.
Is it too late to get it?
I plan to leave on Jan 21, but if I was suppose to have the shot several weeks before leaving, then I can't go.

You need a yellow fever vaccination certificate before you can enter Ghana.

The certificate is valid ten days AFTER you have had the vaccination.

You need to go to a designated Yellow Fever vaccination centre to get your vaccination and the certificate as soon as possible. If you provide documentation that your vaccination happened more than ten days before your entry date to Ghana, that should be okay. But you never know how the bureaucrats will go this time of year. Act now.

In Australia, do a search for "Yellow Fever Vaccination Centres" with your state.

well you better get it

I wouldn't suggest it, but first ask if you are doing any jungle activities. If you are, consiter it. However, yellow fever shots can tool with your amune system, and cause un healthy symptoms and freaquent minor illness. Only get it if your SURE you need it.
