Often yeast infections? I tend to get yeast infections at least every few months about once every 3-4 months.?

I am on the pill so I know that yeast infections are a side effect, and I use tampons, what can I do to help...

a) get rid of it, the cream burns what else is there?

b) prevent the return of the yeast infection.

btw...serious answers please, personal enough.
thanks!

I dont have much itching or burning down there. Every once in awhile it is sore but mostly I get the white discharge.

Could definitely be the pill, or you could be a diabetic--uncontrolled blood sugar can cause recurring yeast infections.

There are creams and inserts and a PILL called Diflucan but you need a prescription.

To prevent yeast infections, there are lots of things you can do. Avoid douching and using irritating perfumes around your vaginal area(this can be soaps, lotions, sprays, laundry detergent, even your toilet paper and feminine hygeine products). Always wipe front to back. Wear cotton underwear not synthetic fabrics. If you are using a tampon or pad, change them ASAP, don't leave them in for long periods of time.

Try these and see if it helps, certainly can't hurt! Yeast infections are a pain in the butt (well sort of, lol) I always get them when I have to take large amounts of antibiotics. Good luck!

Yoghurt. Eat it regularly to reduce chances of yeast infections; pack your vagina with it to stop the itching and burning when you have an outbreak. I know it sounds yuck, but it works. Staying dry down there helps too. The yeast "grows" a lot when it's warm and moist.

Had a problem w/recurring yeast infections. After doc gave hubby a prescription, it stopped happening. Apparently we were passing it back and forth...is unusual, but happens. Haven't had one since 1993. Do you have one partner? If so, have him see a urologist. And gd luck...they are no fun.
