Recurring yeast infections?

A few months ago I got my first yeast infection while being on antibiotics. Then I got one again the next month a little before having my period, and the same thing happened again this month. I know that some women may get yeast infections around the time of their period, but is there a reason I would have NEVER had one before until the antibiotics, and now I'm getting them monthly? I'm planning on calling the doctor Monday morning but was wondering if anyone had any answers in the meantime.

This happened to me once before. don't douche or anything like that. sometimes you just need a really strong medicine for it. they have come out with some really good ones now. call your doc and they will call in an rx usually without even having to be seen anymore :) they even have just a one dose pill or cream which is really nice cuz you don't have to worry about treating it for seven days! it will take about three days or so to start feeling improvement but those one dosers work well

You are right about the antibiotics they have caused an imbalance in the good bacteria that normally exists. You need to replenish the "good" bacteria and a great way to do this is by taking acidophillus orally.
Another precaution you can take is avoiding perfumed soaps and bathe the area with a vinegar and water solution (one part vinegar to 10 parts water) which helps to keep the area slightly acidic and will inhibit growth of the yeast.
Worked for me..good luck.

it can happen. u try to keep yr area dry and wash it after coming from outside every time. i also had this problem, not because of antibiotics but may be sitting in office for long time and going out in hot sun. i am eating curd every day which is having some bacterias which help in reducing or preventing this. this really helps. u can eat curd everyday which will stop this. i have tried and it worked.

are you sexually active. You can pass this on to your partner and he could be passing it back to you. If you are active then he would need to get rid of his before you have realtions again. Also don't take bubble baths. It is best not to take bath' s , showers only .

Reoccuring yeast infection is also one sign of diabetes and possible cerical problems. See your private physician just to be sure.
