Yeast Infections & Sex?

Okay I think I have a yeast infection and I just want to know is it contagious and can I spread it to my boyfriend?
Also do I have to stop having sex?
and is recieving oral sex bad for woman that have yeast infections?

One time we stop having sex for a month and when we did do it my vagina swelled up and it hurt it felt every tight like i wasnt relax, how is this so?

yeast is something we all have in our bodies, (vagina, rectum, and mouth., we get these horrible infections when there is an overgrowth of yeast (fungus)..which causes the discharge and the itching. Yes your bf can get a yeast infection, but it is not necessarily an std/sti,.if he does get it then both should be treated and abstain from sex for the full course of treatment otherwise you will re-infect each other. there are over the counter creams that will treat the yeast infection. Do not have oral when you have a yeast infection, that could lead to Thrush which is basically an oral yeast infection. I dont recommend you having sex until you treat the infection, that would be quite painful and as i stated above can re-infect each other...

good luck hun

yes it's contagious.
he can get it
yes stop having sex til it is cleared up
if he gives you oral sex he can get a yeast infection in his mouth.

yes it will, you need to go see your doc and having them to exame you and give you a prescriptions for it, also have your bf to check out as well just to be show so that he is not givin back to you so you two will prevent of the infection between you two

Yes, he can get it. Get one of those yeast infection kits they actually work really well and fast.

I agree with Green Eye, yes your man can get it, and it wouldn't be sanitary for him to give you oral sex, and sex right now would not be good or comfortable for that matter. You should stop sex for about 5 days, then you will be back to normal.

Yeast infection generally can not be caught through oral sex. However, they can be passed through intercourse.
