Detergents and yeast infections?

Im 15 years old and i just got my first yeast infection i know thats what it is and i have told my mom and she agrees thats what it is too, im going to the doctor today just to make sure but i was wondering if changing your detergent can cause yeast infections. My mom recently changed the detergent so i was wondering if that could have caused this. I know there are many things that can cause this but is that one of them?

Sure it can. There are many women I know who cannot use fabric softener bc of yeast infections. And they get them BAD!!! Also, take showers instead of baths. There were studies done that say baths can cause them as well.

It can. I have to be very careful about scents and yeast infections. Laundry soap has to be non-scented and all other products have to be perfume free.
