Were Chest X-Rays Necessary?

I went to the Doctor with a Strong Cough and Tightness in the Chest. My Doctor said he thinks I have Bronchitis, and he said he thinks I have some Fkuid in my Lungs. But he didn't order Chest X-Rays. Some friends said with the Symptoms I have he should have ordered X-Rays or a Cat Scan. Just to rule out anything Serious. Are my Friends right, or am I just being Paranoid?

They should have done them..unless the Dr thought your lungs sounded clear, maybe try calling the office and asking for an X-ray or just follow the treatment he recommended and if you are not better in a few days call back

Don't freak out,sounds like your doc knows what he's doing. But for many various reasons, xrays are a good idea as they can show you exactly what is going on in those organs.

Practicing Medicine in this country without a license is against the law. Your friends are not qualified ( unless they are doctors ) to say those things.
You don't explain what the doctor did, you just say what he did not do. Depending on the clinical picture the doctor orders certain tests. In this country, people and sometimes doctors are so used to indicate the whole Sears catalog of tests, that they don't practice real Medicine

If the cough persists or the tightness persists or the fluid persists or you get worse, then an xray will be indicated. Right now it's a little early to be ordering xrays and a long way off from any indication for a CT Scan (that one is just ridiculous at this point).
