How many dental x-rays can you have in 1 year? |
I have had numerous problems with my teeth in the past 2 years and i have had LOTS of x-rays, i am beginning to become worried that this may be harmful for me, does anyone know what the yearly limit of dental x-rays are? thanks no , but you defo cant have one if you are pregnent, but seriously i dont think you should have more than 6, unless skys the limit It isn't the number of x-rays, its all about radiation exposure and risk versus benefit. If you're having issues with your teeth, the benefit of the x-rays outweighs the risk of radiation exposure. X-rays are your dentists only way of seeing inside the teeth and areas that can't be seen by the human eye. You're not in any danger unless you're "dentist hopping" - not liking one one doctor tells you and going to another and so on. The dentist io wrk with works 40hours a week and takes 5-10 xrays a day and he always stays in the room as the xray has less radiation in than what we get from the air, he roughly exposes himself to 35 xrays a week for 48 weeks a year so it cant be too much to worry about as he has managed to have 3 beautiful children. |
