Nothing shows on X-rays, but it feels broken?

I was in a car accident a few months back and ever since then I have had problem with my finger, X-rays shows no breaks of any kind in my finger and my finger feels really strange, at first my finger hurt something awlful, but then over time the pain as well as the numbness and tingling all went away, and now I am stuck with a finger that still gets stuck one position, it is hard for me to straighten out my finger as of yet...can anyone tell me if this is the sign of a broken finger or could it be something else?

Its possible that you have done damage or overstretched the tiny tendons at the joint in the finger. This often will not show up on xray because the finger is so small. The older a person is the longer these things take to heal. This type of injury takes a long time to heal anyway. Try not to do things that cause it to get stuck as you could be stretching the tendon over and over again. Soft tissue injury can be better diagnosed with an MRI, but it would be very expensive and I am not sure what could be done for repairs of the finger. If it continues to get stuck in the wrong position you could end up doing damage to the cartilage in the joint. This could also be the problem to begin with. Talk it over with your doctor, but try to see if it will heal up on its own with regular exersizing of the hand. Try to rest the muscles of the fingers for short intervals and not over-strain that particular hand. You may need a physio therapist.

This sounds more like a soft tissue injury than a broken bone. An MRI might show something, so that might be an option.

Not really a sign of a broken finger, more likely a soft tissue problem.
Go to APTA.org, click on "find a PT", and search your area for someone who is a certified hand therapist (CHT)
Good Luck!
