What is my next step? I had X-Rays done but they show no problem.? |
My pain is in my left butt cheek and runs its course down my left leg and to my food feeling tingley like it is going to sleep. I went to the doctor Sunday and they done x-rays but they x-rays show everything is ok. Where is this pain coming from and what is my next step. The doctor's office was no help except for giving me 2 shots and pain and muscle relaxer pills. How do I go about getting an MRI... see a Neurologist or Orthopedic doctor? the area you describe is where the sciatic nerve is, and it will cause pain down the leg. next the doctor will probably order a MRI. Maybe an MRI the next step would probably be an MRI of your Lumbar Spine since you say that the pain radiates to your leg and tingles. You should tell your doctor to write you a prescription so you can have one done. x arays only show the bones...not the nerves, muscles and tissues or any disc problems. An MRI would show these. All people with severe back problems first get the x-ray then an MRI. And 95% do not show up on an x-ray. Good Luck Dear. You need a MRI done to get a good look at your spine. This sounds 110% like sciatica. |
