Is it TRUE that if u want to check if ur GROWTHPLATES have Closed, that they would have to take MANY X-RAYS? |
I asked my docter's assistant if I can get an X-ray to see if my growthplates have closed (becuz i want to know if i can grow still) ...and she said...the x-ray people would have to take SEVERAL X-RAYS of my bones in order to c if they were closed. (she sounded as if to check, it would be a long and tedious process...) Some Dr's may have different theories and beliefs about how to check your growth plates and may use different procedures to check. So it is possible that your Dr. does need to take several x-rays to check. However, from my experience I believe it should only take 1 maybe 2 x-rays to see how much space you have at your growth plates. In most normal people all your bones grow at the same rate so one should do it. |
