How do i go about asking the hospital for copies of all my x-rays?

I am looking to get all of my x-rays from the last 2 years. I would need both pre-op and post-op. Being as they are all now scanned directly into the consultants computer. Is payment required or can I just ask and they will provide me with a disc of the x-rays.

It depends on the facility. Where I work, we put the x-rays on a CD, which includes the report, free of charge. If you want actual films, they cost money.

Quote the freedom of information act and ask for them to be included :)

Call the Medical records department and ask.

I used to work at a radiologic clinic. If patients want a copy of their films, they would have to be charged for it. Check with your doctor.

The xrays are thier property ( the hospital's) the information they provided is yours. You can call medical records and ask that they provide you with copies of the radiology reports that were generated from those xrays, but you can't get the xrays themselves. Your doctor can call the hospital and ask that he be loaned your xrays so you can see them, but he will have to send them back.

Just enquired this morning for x-rays of my broken leg. Advised to write to the radiology service manager at the hospital. They said there would be a small charge. I am going to do this now.

well at this mo im after and xray from 2003,ive rang the hospital was sent from one place to another, then after being on the phone for half and hour i was told i had to write a letter to them,im still waiting to hear from them
