What type of wrist injury could this be?

My wrist is becoming severely painful and when I bend it slightly forward a huge divot appears in front of my radius bone. The pain is in that divot and towards the ring finger (ulna side) of my wrist. My ring finger and pinky finger are now almost completely numb and I am unsure if I should go to the ER or wait the week or two to see a specialist. I am in a new area and don't have a primary care doctor yet. Any ideas why that divot is there and what type of injury can cause these symptoms?

It sounds like the bone not only cracked, but moved from it's place too. The part of the bone that moved cut off the circulation in your wrist, thus making it numb. I strongly suggest that you go to the emergency room and have it Xrayed. It sounds like what could be a very bad fracture. From my experience of breaking my wrist, I didn't go right away because my parents didnt believe me. And when they finally decided to take me to the hospital, the bone healed wrong and led to other problems. So go to the hospital and be safe. It sounds like a dangerous break.
Good luck.

no clue but go to an ER. you could have broken your wrist. If you wait, you could damage your wrist further
