Wrist Injury? Need input? |
I fell down a flight of stairs a week ago and had significant swelling in my left wrist (inner joint area). I had it looked at and xrayed by a physician's assistant at the urgent care next door to my work but she said she didn't see anything on the xray and said it was probably just a bruised bone. A week later I've got a hard round "knot" that is visiably not normal on that bone that I hit. There is not bruising on that area but there is bruising up my thumb (although it doesn't hurt) and on the inside of my arm, almost like the bruising is moving outwards and there's new brusing everyday, but not on the joint that I hit. It doesn't feel like fluid built up and there is sharp pain when I move it. I'm wondering if this sounds normal or if maybe I need it looked at again? The spread of discoloring indicates bleeding within an enclosed space or spread of blood up the enclosed space. i would definitely see a doctor. if the bruising is spreading, that isnt really too good. if there is a sharp pain, you could've damaged your bone worse then bruising. although, my friend fell down a flight of stairs and bruised her bone, so go get it checked out |
