Ow long does it take to get over a wrist injury?

One early morning while feeding the cat, I I fell on my wrist. Instead of falling on my palm, I feel on the back of my hand and stretched the wrist backwards.

That was two months ago. I never went to the doctor (no med insurance) but put an ace bandage on it. Then I re-injured it twice
lifting heavy stuff.

A week ago I bought a splint and have had it on ever since. How long should I keep a splint on? How long does it take the tendon to heal?

Thanks for your answers!

My suggestion would be for you to attend physiotherapy. Depending on the severity of your injury it can take anywhere from three weeks to three months. In physio they will start by gently stretching and strengthening your muscles and it will help to improve your injury and prevent more injuries from occurring. For the med insurance problem you can attend one session of physio and sometimes if the injury is severe enough your local health system will cover it. Good luck and I hope this helps you. Be careful. Also use the acronym RICE. Rest, ice, compression, elevation.

In order for your wrist to heal, you need to not use it. So no more spankin' it until you're healed.

It depends on how bad it was when it happened. I would suggest you make an appoitment to see your doctor to be on the safe side.

you may have a wrist sprain, and sprains can take a while to heal. I would avoid any kind of heavy lifting for a while. if you can. You should really get it checked out at either an Orhtopedic dr. or a Neurologist if it continues to bother you. You should keep the brace on for activities during the day. as for how long it really depends on your diagnosis. It could take up to a couple weeks for it to feel better. but you really go see the Doc.
