Is the Radius part of the wrist? |
I broke my radius, does that mean it's a wrist injury. The radius and ulna (both forearm bones) meet just above your wrist bones. You have several small bones that make up your wrist. Techically... you broke your arm. The radius is a bone in your lower arm. It's not part of the wrist. No, the radius is a bone in the lower arm that RADIATES around the strong bone. It's head is at the wrist, but does not become a part of it. You, I am afraid, broke your arm and it is going to sting for a bit. I hope you feel better soon and if you are really looking for anatomy answers, check out any anatomy book and look up the skeletal system. Good luck!! The wrist-joint (articulatio radiocarpea) is a condyloid articulation. The parts forming it are the lower end of the radius and under surface of the articular disk above; and the navicular, lunate, and triangular bones below. So it depends where you broke your radius, but it could be a wrist injury... The radius is not a part of wrist as a joint. If u have broken radius, I wouldn't call it wrist injury, but forearm injury... No. it is below your wrist but close. you have a broken arm. I am sorry to hear that. I broke my wrist a 5 different places 2 years ago, falling 40ft. it hurts. But I wish you the best. God bless you and your healing! Radius is a bone in the forearm, it's that one twards your thumb, it's lower end is involved in the formation of the wrist joint, so the answer of your question is depending on the site of fracture of your radius!! The radius is one of two bones which constitute the forearm. The largest portion of the radius is at the wrist joint where it articulates with the carpal bones of the hand. Above, the radius articulates with the humerus at the elbow joint. Bony injury (fracture) to the radius occurs most commonly at the wrist. A bone found in the forelimb of vertebrates. |
