Repetitive stress injury (RSI) on my wrist. HELP?? |
I have early stages of RSI in my right wrist -- from too much mouse work on the computer. I've been trying to use my left hand and have been wearing a splint on my right. so far, it i just my wrist that feels injured -- it's not carpal at this point. Why are you still using the computer then? =p I'm going through this right now. Stretch your wrists thoroughly, then alternate hot and cold soaks for one minute each. I find that crushed ice in a basin works well, followed immediately by hot water, as hot as you can stand. Do this three times. It will reduce swelling. It's also very important to start a daily regimen of anti-inflammatories, such as Aleve or Motrin. Wearing the splints at night is also helpful, as it keeps your wrists at a neutral angle. Hope this helps! |
