What is the best way to gain muscle strength in the wrist?

I find when working out the hardest place to gain muscle mass is in my wrists.... This can present a problem because sometimes when I am skateboarding at a skatepark, alot of injuries are prevented from falls off ramps, rails, ect by me using my hands to break my fall...( I know you are supposed to roll out of falls, but sometimes your instincts take over and you have no choice) But with all the falling an dstuff aside, what are good wrist strength excersizes...?

Continually squeezing a hard rubber ball is what I was instructed to do many years ago by a Physiotherapist.

jerkin off. Hell it helped me!

talk to a gym instructor

What I do is take a weight and lift it using only your wrist not your whole arm.

we have the same problem... anyway try working with your hand. used it for liftint, there is this hand grip and try to buy it at sports and used it everyday...

Get an old tennis ball and squeeze it hard in your hand... This should help to make your wrist stronger

Funny that you should mention gaining wrist muscle, because that was exactly my problem in bowling. Being able to support 16 pounds without my wrist breaking (I wasn't much into wrist braces) was just not an easy task. What I did was take my ball and hold it as if I was going to roll it, and then bring my wrist up and then down, up and then down, kind of like curls for the wrist.

I'm not sure if that's the best way, but you may consider calling a pro shop, and asking one of the bowling experts for some advice that doesn't require a ball. Maybe a dumb bell exercise or something that did the same thing.

1.) get a woman's barbell(the lighter ones)
2.) flex your wrists front and back
3.) start at 20 repetitions to both hands everyday
4.) increase repetitions

Squeeze a rubber ball or using your hand to curl weight- like a biceps curl.
