How long will it take for a moderate wrist sprain to heal? |
I sprained my wrist 6 days ago. Most swelling was gone in 3 days, and 90% of my range of motion is back. However, I can put very little pressure on my palm (as if doing a push up) without significant pain in my wrist joint. Is this typical of a healing wrist sprain? Should I be able to support more weight on that hand/wrist after one week? I'm used to running, jumping, etc. on an ankle sprain 1-2 weeks after the injury. gradually start to increase the weight bearing on the wrist - you don't go overnight from crutches to running a marathon a a sprained ankle. Start by doing wall pushups and the "girl" pushups before going for the full monty - may take a few more days depending on the extent of the injury |
