Wrist pain?

For the past week or two I've had a really sharp pain in my left wrist. It doesn't hurt when I bend it forward...only when I bend it back and put pressure on it (like if I lean on it). It also hurts when I type occasionally. I haven't really noticed any numbness or anything and I'm almost positive that it's not an injury. Does anyone know what this could be?

sounds like a repetitive motion injury (AKA carpal tunnel) to me. Try the splint and lots of Naprosyn or other anti-inflammatory, and rest it!

go get a wrist splint at the drug store, wear it while on the computer and when you sleep.. sounds like onset carpal tunnell or tendonitis..a wrist splint will really help..it helped me in this situation

Carpel tunnel

im having the exact problem right now. i went and got a mri and an xray. nothing showed up on either. im going to a hand dr in 2 weeks. ill let u no what he says. ps anti anflamitories DONT help.

This could be because of muscle fatigue or dehydration. Try exercising all parts of your body. It also sometimes is due to disuse atrophy. Try out some home remedies. You can also look for information in the web that give you home remedies. I found this website very useful. http://aches.in/cramps.html

It is the muscles as far away as your back that are tight, with knots called trigger points.
Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago.

Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.

The cure - start with a professional massage, you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).

For more information read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches what to do and where the pain comes from.

There are allot of ligaments oin your hand and connections to your wrist. IF you sprang one or tear, pull or damage any part of the ligament, it will result in pain and that can last for years without proper treatment.
