Do I need a counciller?

Im 15 and i feel that i need a counciller, but i dont really want to.

I have an eating disorder, and i starve myself alot,
I cut my self regually on my wrists and legs, from depression,
I smoke alot of weed and cigarettes to make me feel better, My mum is an alcoholic and she makes me really upset wen shes drunk,

etc etc.
I just feel that i want to talk about my problems to some one but I dont have the confidence to,
I dont want to tell my frends, but most of them no.

A couple of my frends have councelling at skool.

You should DEFINITELY speak to a counselor! Its not going to be easy, you might hate it or feel awkward at 1st but trust me, counseling is worth it & if u have the right therapist, its not scary at all.

Absolutely, ... get help!
Life is NOT... repeat, NOT what you see right now!
ONE DAY can make ALL the difference in the world!
Please, see a counselor as soon as possible!
Be sure he/she is a professional! (NOT a friend of a friend that's attending med school, or something like that.)
Life can be sweet, full of fun and enjoyable. Really!
Especially if you are young and in relatively good health.
Maybe (just 'maybe'), you need to change your environment... change your surroundings, if possible.
There is ALWAYS HOPE! Although it never seems like it during the worse depression periods.

Please seek help. Your grandchildren will thank you for it! :-)

You definitely need a counsellor. But seriously, don't worry about it. You should hear some of the crazy stuff counsellors get all the time! They are NOT going to judge you and they can be like your best friend outside of your life. Sometimes its best to find someone outside of your family and friends because then they can see things from a new perspective, not to mention that counsellors are professionals who are trained to help you. They have tons of experience and are usually really nice people.

I used to think of counsellors as some kind of authority or teacher or something, and I HATED both of those, but I was so wrong. They can't tell anyone anything unless you're planning on murdering someone (which I hope you're not) and when you tell them things, they've always heard much worse. Talk to your friends who have counsellors. Obviously it isn't abnormal to have one. Tons of people do this sort of thing all the time, and its awesome how well it works, even though it seems so simple.

I really think you should go for it. A counsellor can be that adult figure that you can look up to, especially since your mom isn't being so good at that currently. You need someone, you're admitting it yourself, so don't deny yourself a need. It's like needing food and drink, we all need some human help now and then. Get some stuff taken care of before it haunts you into your future (Lame).

Please look in your telephone book under mental health clinics or family counseling services, I go to therapy and it really helps me a lot, I know once you talk to a therapist you will feel a lot better getting your problems out of your system and they will give you advise.
Please try to eat something, starving yourself is not good you only get weaker and emotionally more depressed which makes it harder on yourself. Why cut your wrists, legs does it really help you feel better? I DO think it will make you MORE depressed looking at the cuts. My Mum drank a lot when I was young too,I know it is upsetting that is why you must see a therapist and tell them you need a antidepressant going to therapy really helped me.Also please stop the weed and cigarettes, you don't need cancer and God knows what people are putting in the weed very dangerous.
Best of luck!

Yes, yes, yes! Puhleeez go to the school counselor. You're going down a road toward serious health problems and you need someone qualified to show you how it can (and it can) be made better. There is SO much help available. Please reach out and ask for it. And do not be ashamed or embarrassed. Everyone needs help at times. Life is difficult and one of the people you should be able to turn to for help and advice is complicating your life instead of making it easier. You're not alone and you need assistance. That's okay and it's waiting for you but you have to ask for it. Please go to someone who can help. I know it sounds like b.s. right now, but I swear, with good help, your entire life can turn around and you can begin to feel better and then even good about yourself and your future. Trust me, I almost killed myself when I was sixteen and I am so glad every day that I didn't. It's worth a try. Your life is a precious gift. Get help to make the most of it. Best of luck to you.
