Could I have OCD? |
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Yes, you possibly have OCD, but other things seem to be happening also. Your legs may be Torettes Syndrome. These two disorders, depression, suicide, cutting are all effected by the chemical seritonium in your brain. they are very closely related and many people have several of these disorders all at once. I know, I do. Life can be very hard. Do you pull out your hair? Living in your head could be a part of OCD, or could be psychotic another type of mental illness and very serious. Tell the people they need to learn about your disorders because at this point you cannot do anything differently. If they get too annoyed with your actions, then just stay away from them. If your family is having problems, then they need to seek information for their and your sake. Why can't you get help? That may be a key to how to help you. You can e-mail me if you wish. yes, the food thing doesn't sound that severe, but it does bother you to the point where you feel like your day isn't going to go right if you dont fix it. shaking your leg is normal, you need to learn to breath when you get anxious. It could be very possible that things like having to your food in seperate sections is a OCD, and shaking your legs along with not being able to stand certain things, but I don't think another reality in your head is...... I'm not too sure about that one sorry It sounds like you do have some sort of problem. And I think you already know this. You really do need to seek professional help. Go to your school sycyatrist. some of those are obsessions but not necessarly put together to make an obsessive compulsive disorder...but then you haven't said everything.. ocd is serious and you should not try to diagnose yourself please see someone to be sure you are okay. you are manifesting definite symptoms of OCD. Repetative motions, traits, or things that one does qualify as ocD if they are uncontrolably conpulsive in thought and nature. OCD is mangable disease with the right therapy and support group. Many people suffer from mild forms of it unaware that they have it. What you are explaining doesn't sound like OCD. OCD would be frequent handwashing, checking the lights many times to make sure you turned them off, having to touch things a certain way everyday, etc. Things that really interfere with your daily living activities. You just like certain things a certain way. There's nothing wrong with that. Alot of people don't like their foods touching. I think it bothers most people to hear teeth scraping against silverwear. I'm sure there are many foods that people don't care for the sight of. I'm sorry to recommend this but your best bet is to talk it out with a professional. At least they can validate your feelings and let you know what they think the issues may be. Just go once if you like just to hear what they have to say. Some things can't be fixed by yourself. If you are truly depressed ,have suicidal tendencies and have a history of cutting, you may need medication to help you out. To take the edge off of life in general. Please see a professional that deals with social issues if you can't work it out yourself. Try to relax, tell yourself that many people feel the same way you do about the foods and the teeth hitting metal but please talk with a counselor, psychiatrist or psychologist if your feelings don't change or they get worse. Please??? |
