Is it true that having oily skin will actually help prevent getting wrinkles as we age?

I was just told that it was wrong to use all those products that dry out my skin to "remove" blackheads...(they don't work anyway)... the woman told me that I needed to have them professionally taken out. But she also said that I was lucky because my skin lets the oils out.. that women with naturally dry skin tend to get more wrinkles as they age. Does any one else know about this?? Is this true?

well, oil is naturally healthy and protective of our skin, only too much excess oil that causes skin flaws, in any case, oil should be on your face no matter what, and yea, that also means its probably healthy for wrinkles too, kinda like bread, if you toast it and bend it in half, there will be a crease, even a tear in it, but if you take a normal piece of bread and bend it, it can go back to normal. same thing with oil and skin, that's why dermatologists say not to wash or rub your face too much, or else it will rid the oil that your face needs to be healthy/

Personally, I'd want to have a good medium between oily skin and dry skin. Sounds reasonable, right?

I don't know if it prevents wrinkles but people with dry skin can get more wrinkles. BUT people with oily skin are more prone to getting acne. I guess there's a plus side and downside to everything.

Yes it's true.

The oil protects our skin. They say the best thing to wash your oily face with is soap & water. Also, not to use a moisturizer until you turn 30.

Not to include race or anything but You know the stereotype that black people are "greasy"? That's because they say that African American's have oily skin. Notice that we age at slower rates & beautifully.

Embrace that oily skin. If you want to dry something try use Mineral make up oil absorbers. They're natural minerals and they absorb the oil leaving your face looking with a matte finish.

I can tell you that my moms family has oily skin and my mother who is turning 55 this year doesn't look a day over 40. On the other hand my fathers side of the family has very dry skin and they all aged very quickly. I was lucky and got the oily skin...so I look forward to looking young for many years to come.
