Somewhat deep wounds from dog bites?

My sister's adopted dog (who had been abused by her previous owner) just turned on me an hour and half or so ago and really got a good grip on my wrist. Fortunately I was able to get away before serious (although granted this is still rather serious) injury was inflicted. Needless to say I ended up crying harder than I did when I was born (a super crappy day on top of this incident) . . . but while I was sobbing I was able to get my wrist under the facet of warm water that helped wash out the blood and I generously have been spraying "Bactine-pain relieving cleansing spray that is a maximum strength antiseptic to kill germs" on my wounds in the hope that besides the physical damage, not much else will give me damage through the open wounds. I have also put large bandaids soaking in the spray over my cuts.

Is this enough? Is there something else I should do? I really don't want to get an infection!

OH and a really important piece of information: I'm allergic to the dogs allergens/saliva and thusly my wrist had swollen, specifically in those places in which the dogs teeth had come in contact with my skin (whether that spot saw blood or not). The swelling has gone down since I have used the spray, but I don't know if because of my allergy I need to use something different or stronger.

Thank you soooooo much for your concern and your time for reading this and a super big thanks if you have any words of advice. This has been a shitastic day and I definitely don't want it to get worse =/

Go to the ER NOW. The dog bite will need to be reported to the police/animal control. Hopefully the dog is current w/ his rabbies shots or else you will have more troubles. The ER will wash out the bite (sterile solutions) and help w/ the swelling. GO NOW.

Do you know whether this dog has had all his shots? I don't want to frighten you, but if you don't know, you must contact the police so the dog can be quarantined & tested, unless the previous owner's vet can prove that the shots are up to date. You cannot let this slide--rabies is a very dangerous disease, & Bactine is not sufficient to insure your safety. This needs to be gotten underway IMMEDIATELY!!

I think you should go to the hospital to get it checked out. Especially since you're allergic to dogs, too.

first get to an emergency room now. you did good in washing and spraying but because of allergy it probably isn't enough. you may also have internal damage to wrists, please go to doctor now. god bless.
