Puncture wounds / how long to re open wound/scab?

I know its best to leave puncture wounds open, so they can breathe and let out all the puss and of course keep it clean, I was also told to re open the scabs, as puncture wounds need to heal from the inside out, to avoid infection, my question is how many days do you need to re open the scabs, I have been re opening the scabs on my dogs puncture wounds for 2 days now, 2 times per day, every time i open them, they are fine, no signs of infection, does anyone know when i can let it scab and just clean it . Thank you.

Pour some peroxide in the wounds to see if any stuff boils out, I would do that a few times and then if they seem clean let them heal
