Urine for cleaning wounds?

Can you clean your wounds by peeing in them? I think I read that somewhere

I read that too, but I do not necessarily believe it.

I also read that maggots are used in hospitals to clean infectious wounds.

no, it's for a jellyfish sting, not a wound. the urine takes the pain away.

Even though urine IS sterile and acidic (provided you don't have an infection), I wouldn't recommend this.

Salia actually has antibacterial properties, though. Licking or sucking a wound is actually instinct.

HOWEVER...this is not the stone ages, and we have things like antibiotic cream, iodine, hydrogen peroxide, sterile bandages, and alcohol. Use them.

Urine is absolutely sterile so yes indeed this works. Part of military survival training technique. Honey works well as well sterile too with some anti-biotic properties.
