Please help battle wounds?!!!!!!?

lol.... I have scars on my legs that i call battle wounds from when i was little. actually they are just scars i aquired from being a tom boy. the scars are not raised in fact they are flat like in the skin but they are darker than my natural color almost like when you get a flea bite and it leaves dark marks for a while. well people said they would fade but they havn't i had them since i was ten and now i am 22 so please HELP!!!! sometimes its embarrasing to wear skirts etc. my friends say you don't really notice them but i do and as long as i do i wont be comfortable and confidant to wear sexy mini skirts.
