A soldiers depression and wounds that cannot be seen or healed? |
always support your troops and may god forgive us for what we had to do. A civilian will never understand a soldier. I am an ex soldier and I have served my country on operation. Your question relates to me on a personal level. The things that a soldier goes through when times are tough - trust, mates, companionship is the bond which is exclusively with servicemen. The reason civilians, which also includes health professionals ie councellors will never understand the impact of the soldiers perspective because a civilian has never been subjected to the experience. A soldier may carry unseen wounds and depression which is a natural process of the human body. In the forces you are mentally conditioned to deal with extreme circumstances, a soldier is trained to be seen but not heard. maybe it can be healed but It take years for that to be healed. physical wounds can be healed easily but emotional wounds take time. Thanks for that. My heart sank when I read it was his own son that he found. I appreciate the time you took to share that with us, it helps us remember that we need to pray for our people to come home safely, physically, and mentally whole. |
