Do true silver colloid bandages really work for cancer patients with wounds?

my husband has leukemia, he somehow got a wound on his back that has grown progressively larger, so far the wound care treatment he is getting isnt doing much. i read on the internet silver was used for wounds on burn patients. How good does this true silver colloidal work?
