Medicine for wounds i.e. external ulcers? |
I have a wound on the leg near the foot and have varicose veins. Doctors have told me that it is a varicose ulcer and it has failed to heal. I have been given different medicines but to no avail. I am now looking for alternative medicines. There's a new perscription ointment, Xenaderm. It's very expensive, and you only should use a pea-sized amount on the affected area. It increases blood flow to the wound, therefore healing it faster than what it would do on its own. Elevate your leg at EVERY opportunity, keep it dressed in clean dressing, changed twice a day. Use steriod cream on it too. if you are in England, go and see Vanessa Venning in Oxford (or search for her and contact her if you are not in the UK) as she was the ONLY dr to help my dad. Good good luck, email if you want any more details, I'll try and find out exact details from my mum. |
