Women's health question?

for the past few days (maybe 5) i've had extremely dark brown-blackish discharge. It is a medium amount, I wear a pantyliner. I know this may be old blood. I have been on the pill for about 5 years and have never experienced this. I'm halfway through my pack of pills (period about 1.5 weeks ago). I haven't had unprotected sex or missed any pills. There is also some very very minimal cramping. It almost feels like my period, but it's not the right time or the right discharge. Does anyone know if this is something I should have looked into (i just started a new job and my health insurance doesn't kick in for about 2more months) or if I shouldn't worry and just let it work itself out. Any advice is helpful.
Thanks!

i think that the best thing to do is go to a doctor. people do give advice here, but concerning these things i would rather ask a professional doctor!!

Think about this befor you start worrying about everything!! How do you think the women back in the old days delt with female problems of this nature. God made it to where our vagina's clean themselves out.

How old are you? When was the last time you went to a gyn? Do you have any other symptoms such as bloating, fullness in the abdomen, frequency/urgency to urinate? Do you feel more tired than usual? Are you at a greater risk for gyn cancers i.e. family history or fertility drugs?

It could possibly by cysts but it would be best to see a gyn asap. I would request a vaginal ultrasound and a CA-125 blood test.

Ovarian cancer is a silent killer with minimal subtle symptoms if any which I noted above. I was diagnosed with Ovarian and Uterine cancer 2 yrs ago. My symptoms were bloating, feeling full in the abdomen, and sometimes with intercourse I had a mild pain and if I had intercourse a couple of days before my period was due it would start early.

Really the best advice is to see a doctor (gyn).

Good luck. Let me know how you do.

Laura
