Does the pubic hair in women perform a health function?

I heard pubic hair in women protects against infections or something. Is this true? Does this mean shaving/waxing off pubic hair increases risks to health?

As a woman i have deff. had more infections after shaving than before and I'm more comfortable with more than less pubic hair cause then you get irritaion and stuble. ew.

"The health issues of pubic hair are controversial. Some studies show that removal of pubic hair may cause fungal infection of genitalia, especially in women"

i heard that too and i believe it is true but i dont know what exactly it protects you against...sorry!

It does help keep the area clean. That's why we have hair in our noses..it filters dirt, dust, etc that we breathe in.

I don't know an average of women that have gotten vaginal infections from shaving that area (who really knows it was from that)...theres a wide range of causes and possiblities.

The purposes of pubic hair (and axillary hair) are for absorption and spreading of pheromones, for temperature regulation and to inspire modesty.

I HONESTLY DON'T KNOW. BUT IT MUST BE THERE FOR A PURPOSE. I SUPPOSE.
