How do you get rid of whooping cough?

How do you get rid of whooping cough?

Whooping cough also known as Pertussis is infectious and is mainly caused by a bacterium Bordetella Pertussis.
Although vaccines are given to infants to prevent the infection there are still more than 1000 cases reported each year in Canada
there can be many complications with the infection including permanent brain damage in infants.
Antibiotic drugs are not particularly helpful once the severe coughing stage has developed, but in the early stages erythromycin is often given and helps shorten the length of the illness. the things you should do are stay warm, take small frequent meals, drink plenty of fluids. the illness can last up to 10 weeks if nose bleeds, vomiting, etc begin you need to go to the hospital or a Dr right away as the may be signs of other problems

If someone has whooping cough they need medical treatment fast.

Immunizations have made this disease a thing of the past in people who are care enough about their children to prevent them from suffering.

The only real differences between a
"whooping cough" and the sort you
can develop from a having a simple
sore throat is that a "whooping" will
mean a longer coughing spell--and,
it will mean that your throat will stay
sore for longer.
The treatments for it, though, aren't
any different: TheraFlu would be a
good one to start with; you should
also drink plenty of hot tea.
And, as for the second part of that
equation: it can be your choice of
which flavor -- anything from,say...
Earl Grey to Raspberry Gardens.
But, adding honey to the hot tea--
and the TheraFlu, too--will make
both of them a lot easier to take.
Corny though it might sound... the
classic Walt Disney nanny, Mary
Poppins was quite right when she
told her little friends, "A spoonful
of sugar helps the medicine go
down, in a most delightful way."
Of course, Mary Poppins did not
consider the possibility that some
of her little friends might actually be
diabetics. (Therefore, honey is the
better option.)

Best of health & good luck.

Hmmmmmmmmm........wouldn't you be in the hospital with whooping cough since it is highly contagious????
