Can a child under 5 get whooping cough even though they recieved their immunization shots as scheduled?

If your child is young, under 1 year old, it's possible they have croup which is a very loud cough too.

If you haven't already, you should have your child seen by a doctor.

I can't speak from experience on this, but I got measles and mumps both even though I had the shots. So I'm assuming there is a chance of such a miscarraige occuring with whooping cough too.

With any vaccination, there's a small chance that it won't "take"... meaning even though you get the shot, your immune system doesn't learn from it how to fight off future infections.
