How do I know if I have cracked a rib? I have whooping cough.?

I know I have pulled muscles in my chest but it has gotten worse quickly. If I have cracked a rib what can be done? How long will it last?

You can't do much except have the doctor wrap you to keep the movement down to a dull roar. They hurt like hell, you have my sympathy. 6 weeks for a fracture to heal no matter where it is.
