Can whiplash cause nausea? |
I fainted three weeks ago and fell flat on my face. In fact my neck and chin took the impact. I now have awful neck and shoulder aches as well as nausea. Is this whiplash? A trumatic avent like this can cause sickness, you have been through an experince which is stressful, some people react to stress this way,i feel sick when i get stressed out. What you need is a nice massage.a day in the open air and someone to talk to in the comfort of your won home. It sounds like you need to see a doctor. You usually get whiplash when you are in a car accident when you are rear-ended. But it sounds like the fall you took could certainly cause it. Any kind of pain like that can cause nausea. After I got whiplash in my accident, I was nauseated for quite awhile. You really need to see a doctor though to see what made you faint in the first place and to have your neck and chin checked out. Hope you feel better. Very dangerous! Sounds like you have a concussion. This can affect you for months afterwards. You need to be very careful as another blow to the head could prove much worse for you. See a doctor immediately! whiplash can be caused by a sudden pull of the muscles when you are least expecting it e.g. when you fall or whatever without warning and youn are not able to use your reflexes normally as opposed to knowing when you fall and you are aware of falling and then you are able to support yourself while falling or whatever. but i don't think this causes nausea because I had a bad car crash a few years ago and I had quite bad whiplash on my neck but i did not have any nausea. Chalrie Asbury says yes Sounds awful, very sorry to hear. It is possibly whiplash, however the nausea could be caused by a number of things, including shock. I agree that seeking professional advice would be the best thing, that and taking it easy for a while. concussion, get to doctors quickly, my friends died two weeks after a head injury (he never went to see a doctor) so please go and dont delay yes I think you should stop going to that strict madam in paddington and while you're at it take those awful schoolmistress clothes back to the charity shop----- it really has got beyond a joke ! Whiplash is defined as a medical condition where the soft tissues of the neck have been injured after a sudden jerking (whipping) of the head, which results in a strain on the muscles and ligaments of the neck when it is moved beyond the normal range of motion, causing a sprain-type injury. Whiplash is a description of the movement which causes injury, but has become synonymous with the soft tissue injury which occurs. <quoted from Wikipedia>. |
