Help with WHIPLASH? In serious pain.?

I was rear ended last week which aggrivated a previous whiplash injury. I have been taking anti-inflametories and pain killers and Im going to see the physio later today. But I am in so much discomfort and pain still. Any tips on how to easy it? I cant take Brufen as it upsets my tummy, and I sit in front of a computer..

Heat helps. Your physical therapist should use ultrasound on your neck, which helps. My favorite thing was acupuncture. It was the best help. Mine lasted 7 years because no one thought it was important enough to do anything about. So keep bugging them for a solution.

the acupuncture needles are smaller than the size of a hair. They rarely hurt. There are special deep tissue treatments that hurt a bit, I had 30 of those, but the rest do not hurt. Don't let fear keep you away from freedom from pain! Report It

I know that pain so well!! Try a heated pad of some sort. Those bean bags that you can heat in the microwave are great. Sitting in front of a computer won't help, take lots of breaks. One exercise I was given was to stand against a wall and put my chin down then stretch my neck up but I would wait till you've seen the physio before you try that. Brufen is an anti-inflamatory so even if you could take it it probably wouldn't help as you are already taking some.
