I was diagnosed with whiplash in the neck and lower back strain with rehab.?

i fell into an unburied trench that was about a foot deep in my back yard and was taken to the ER and diagnosed with whiplash in the neck and lower back strain with rehab. Basicly could you explain what type of injuries did i just suffer, what thier common symptoms are, short term and possible long term effects. thanks

it depends on the severity of the whiplash. you will probably have slightly torn the ligaments in your neck + back. short term symptoms are pain on most movements and stiffness, long term you should be ok unless severe

I received similar injuries in an auto accident. It is hard to tell you about your neck because of different types of injuries. Back strain should heal. I have compressed vertebrae in my lower back and neck. From my neck I have constant pain on my left side all down my arm and fingers. My left leg also hurts constantly. I hope yours aren't as bad. I had to give up playing my guitar. You will be lucky if all you had was soft tissue injuries.
