I was rear-ended and I have whiplash, should I settle? |
I have whiplash and I am undergoing chiropratric care. The insurance should offer me a settlement but I don't know what amount, if anything, I should settle for. I am concerened about further problems with my neck and back especially since I work as a house painter which requires daily stress and motion on these areas. Does anyone have advice about what I should do when they offer a settlement? I would also like to know more about whiplash. What are the odds of recovery, treatment methods, and how it might effect my job? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. you need to consider, that you use your back , extension of your neck in your job, and how much is your work performance being affected by your injuries, what is your pain level, are you having pain daily?? I hate to recommend an attorney, but it will be well worth it to do so. Most will offer a free consultation, even if you have to pay for an office visit, I guarantee you'll get a fairer settlement even after paying the attorney. NO! Definitely WAIT until you are sure you will not have any other problems! I f you settle now they're off the hook to help you later if you need it! You need legal advice from a Lawyer. I wouldn`t settle. My daughter was in a car that flipped over 3 times causing her to have spinal injuries. We settled, and we shouldn`t have as she is having more problems, and we can`t do anything about it. She will eventually need surgery as she has 3 herniated discs, and she does not have a job that requires as much movement as you do. And be careful with your attorney. That is why we ended up in a settlement. if you arent sure what to settle for get a lawyer to deal with it, he will sue them and get a lot more but you will end up paying him at least half of the ammount awarded you. ask your doctor what kind of lifetime costs this could cause you, actually no one ever offered me a cent and i just had to deal with it, about ten years after the accident i turned my head and something snapped, and i couldnt move for a week, but when it let up, i was fine and all the old pain and misery i had suffered through was gone. very odd, but thats how mine went. what u should not do is post the same question twice |
