Whiplash injury?

had 3 car accidents in space of 2 months over a year ago, still have lump in left shoulder/neck muscle area, i do physio excercises and take pain killers and use muscle rub daily. but its still bad and doesnt seem to get any better. any suggestions

I have had 2 accidents in 3 yrs, most recently last Dec, I also have whiplash, I am now going to a chiropractor, which is really helping

My mate broke his neck in a car accident!
He's never looked back since!

I had 2 car accidents...not my fault honest...but they were approx 4 months apart and am still suffering one year on...problem is that one accident after another can exacerbate another. I was 75% recovered from the first injury when the 2nd accident occurred. Not only are you recovering from one accident but the next one and the ones after that have made it even worse which makes the healing time longer. You really need to go and see your GP and get referred for more physio as you may not be targeting the right areas and does your pain relief contain an anti inflammatory?

you could ask your doctor about acupuncture I've had it done and its amazing I've never been bothered by the muscle pain since and that was 4 years ago. Good luck.x

STOP DRIVING IMMEDIATELY no really your dangerous

3 accidents in 2 months how many more do you want, stay out of the car and get the bus

Had wiplash myself, one car crash, one rollercoaster accident.
I changed my bed and I now sleep on a Japenese futon, I hate conventional medicine and refused the painkillers though the pain made me blackout a few times, Also never sleep on pillars higher than the depth of your shoulder. So from the bed to your heads natural position when sleeping, that means two pillars for me. This keeps you spine in line. Don't sleep on your back as this makes you spine curve unnecessarily. A good chiropractor can help and I found yoga to be greatly effective in reducing the pain and the muscle tension. Good luck!

Try a chiropractor. But make sure that it is a mactimony. (I may have spelt that wrongly) They are the gentle sort and it really works, you do not feel as if you have had a session with an all in wrestler!!

I had several car injuries, a fall at school from the uneven bars, then a bicycle accident. All under the age of 15 yrs. As I got older the pains increased. Last year I turned 43, the pain was too much, so I went to a chiropractor. I've been seeing him for about a year now. I feel sooooo much better now! The headaches have gone and the subluxation (this caused headaches and muscle pain and knots)in my neck has greatly improved. I then also found out that I have Scoliosis in my mid to low back. The adjustments made have increased my mobility and decreased the pain. I recommend a Chiropractic visit. They will take ex-rays to see what is going on and what if anything, can be done. I hope this helps!

Whiplash injuries can takes mths for the neck to get bck to normal, pulling the ligaments and muscles in your nck and shoulders takes along time to adjust bck to normal again.Muscle rub doenst do alot for injuries like this, you need stronger pain killers and anti inflammatry tablets from your gp,go bck and see him and he should give you something stronger for the pain.Good Luck

it's not one of those insurance scam is it.

Quite honestly I should go and see your doctor and tell him what has happened - dates etc., how you are feeling and see what he says.

If he is not very helpful I would suggest that you ask FIRMLY to be referred to a specialist.

I have had whiplash a couple of times and the last time - about 9 years ago, eventually finished my career as a paramedic - there were other injuries also. But my neck hurt so much that it gave me headaches and I could barely hold my head up some days.

To be honest, I found the NHS pretty useless - they told me that I had wear and tear to some of my cervical vertebrae and that it would just get worse. However, I went to see an osteopath eventually - and it cost me 拢30 a go for a good 10 sessions - but they worked wonders and my neck is now pretty much back to normal - I do try to have a remedial massage every few months to keep it properly balanced.

DON'T let them yank your neck around though - some will try - and I found this gave me awful headaches. Tell them you want to be treated gently but effectively. I personally would not recommend a chiropractor - the one I saw is the one who yanked my neck around a lot!

Hope this helps a bit - actually your doctor MIGHT be able to refer you to an osteopath - Good Luck.

If you've made a claim for compen you'll have to have a medical. the Dr there should advise on further treatment. I got offered over 拢2,000 today for my whiplash!

I only needed 1 medical!
