Can a whiplash provoke 4 disc herniations on the neck?

My car was bumped in the rear. I had neck pain after. I did an MRI and it showed 4 disc herniations on the neck.

Since the accident, I see a chiropractor and have massage 3 times a week, for 1 month and half. I have more pain when I move my head backward or forward. I don't wear a brace.

Sure, especially if the impact was hard. You may have swelling and bruising as well. It is possible to receive disc protrusions ( the spongy material between the vertebrae are sticking out), disc herniations are a more serious problem. The discs are bulging and have slipped away from it's normal position. A neck injury is quite painful. I, personally, have had cervical spinal fusion surgery that resulted from neck disc herniations. I now have 2 titanium plates in my neck. Depending on the severity of the disc herniations, your Doc ( hopefully, you have been evaluated by a Neurologist or Neurosurgeon), may recommended Physical Therapy and , of course,you should be wearing a neck brace. Yes, it definitely can. If you had no prior neck pain what so ever, you can tell even more so that the accident caused this. I know the pain of herniated discs. I hope the pain goes away for you.
