Neck strain? Whiplash? Joint Pain?

About 5 days ago I went on a trip with a bunch of my friends and we were playing around in the pool. My friends and I were playing the "chicken" game in the pool and one of my friends sat on my shoulders to play. I was kind of nervous about her sitting there at first because it felt a little uncomfortable for my neck, and sure enough, she accidentally moved on my neck and my head flew forward into the water. At first my neck experienced only mild pain and irritability but then as the days went by it worsened and became more painful. About 2 days ago I started to experience joint pain in my feet, legs, arms, and hands. I went to the doctor yesterday and he just said that it was a neck strain and that I didn't fracture my neck (which I believe). I'm just worried that my joint pains may mean that I damaged a nerve in my spinal cord? (HOPEFULLY NOT!) But I'm very unsure about al of this. I'm feeling this pressure/pain at this particular point behind my neck. Please help me! I NEED ADVICE!

My sister road on a roller coaster last year at an amusement park. She experienced pain like this accompanied by swelling in her joints and severe discomfort in her neck and other joints. They assumed at first same thing as you some whiplash or just being tired. Doctor told them the same thing, after a week my mom demanded they look into other explanations because my sister had no relief.

After blood tests they determined that my sister had Lyme's disease. She never had any other symptoms prior to this no bulls eye or anything.

Not saying that you have this, but only you know your body and if you are that worried or in that much pain you need to get a second and third opinion. Best of luck!!

again consult your doctor. get XRAY of your back bone (millography) .don,t take it easy.

A "whiplash" type injury could definitely shoot into your arms, but not into your feet or legs! That could be a more serious problem you need to have checked out. Get a x-ray at the Doctors. If the x-ray is OK but the pain doesn't go away, go to a physical therapist or chiropractor.

I had a car accident a couple of years ago and have had neck pain similar to yours. I went to a chiropractor and had an adjustment. When I strain something 3 outcomes happen; I focus on that pain only even if other pain is occurring in my body, It take a couple of days for my strain to heal and then I notice other aches and pain, and it seems easy repeat the strain, so what I have done is work slowly to strengthen the muscles around the strain. This will help prevent the strain from happen again.
