Explain why people in wheelchairs with paralyzed lower limbs have thin, weak bones in their thighs & legs.?

simple answer--if you don't (can't) use it, you lose it. The bones usually aren't thinner, rather the muscle is.

Because they can't move them.

It's more muscle atrophy (or wasting) than bones getting smaller. People who are paralyzed can't move their legs right... well this leads to muscle wasting... if you don't use the muscles they start to get smaller and smaller and smaller. The bones get weaker because there is no impact... one of the things that makes bones strong is the impact of walking, running and everyday life. Hope this helps! Good Luck!
