Does anyone know anything about wheelchair vouchers for disabled people?

This is for an MS sufferer in Kent who needs help towards cost of a wheelchair.....

Sorry, NO. But your local Health care provider should be able to provide one....Are you on a waiting list? Check the local paper I have seen them advertised before. I would have thought an MS sufferer would have had some sort of priority but who knows these days

The local PCt should be able to help here. no one should be expected to pay out if they really need the equipment. Ask the GP how to go about getting an assessment.

THIS IS RIGHT if you are assessed for a wheelchair through the nhs they would hope you take their choice but if you feel that you would prefer to purchase your own choice then a voucher can be given to the amount of the equivalent chair of their choice and any extra cost would be paid by yourselves there are some charities that can help with extra costs in some situations! you could try the disabled living foundation's website www.dlf.org.uk or some other charities that might be able to help with grants etc cant think of any off hand .you could e-mail me and i could get my work head on (lol) and email some companies info/charities to you if that would help!!!

I know where he can get a free one....I live in WA. st. if you do contact me......there is a guy here with 5 acres full of wheelchairs and walkers....he repairs them and gives them away.....maybe ...no matter where you are it would be cheaper to have one of these , and just pay to ship it to you ...email me at seattle2live@yahoo.com......I will get back to you by Monday.

Try Masonic groups! Not sure wich one but they do allot of good! My father was a Mason. Wouldn't hurt to look under onto them. If anything, they will put you in the right hands! God Bless! Give me a figure for the cost of the chair and contact me on the inside! See if I can help! God Bless
