Have you seen this wheelchair that can balance on 2 wheels?

http://www.independencenow.com/ibot/bala...

I received a Military newsletter and this wheelchair was advertised. I think it is just amazing, and wonder if medical insurance would cover the cost of it.

With the exception of racing wheelchairs that have 3 wheels, most chairs have 2 big wheels, and 2 small wheels in front for balance.

With practice, wheelchair users can pop-a-wheelie, and balance on 2 wheels.

This chair rises up on 2 wheels and allows the rider to be at eye-level with people that are walking, as well as reach top cabinets in the kitchen, and other things.

I want to know if there are other chairs out there that are lke this one.

One of my classmates uses one. It really helps him to fit in.

Thats really interesting, it does sound like the same technology a Segway uses. Report It

i think all wheel chairs have only 2 wheels

really? sounds like a modified Segway to me... interesting, but i will not rely on it... if the power is off, u may accidentally tip the person in the wheelchair OFF the wheelchair...haha...

Yea saw that on tv...I bet it cost a fortune, but it sure is COOL(have a friend who could use one of those)
It will climb stairs it's pretty amazing

pretty interesting, but I don't know anyone who needs this info.

I remember seeing a wheelchair on TV years ago (1980s, I think) that had 3 wheels arranged in a triangle shape on each side which could climb stairs. I always wondered what happened to it, I think it must have been an early version of this.

I watched the videos, it's amazing how it can balance on 2 wheels. With all that technology, it's expensive, though, and there's lots that can go wrong. It would be awful if it lost its sense of balance!

Yes, I've seen it! I think Med. Insu. should cover this if they don't already.

Kool it almost looks like a sofa
