How long will west nile virus incubate?

west nile virus

The incubation period for West Nile virus is usually 5 to 15 days (although I have read it is 10-14 days as well, and 3-14 days) during the mosquito season (which is not year around). West nile attacks the brain and then the nervous system.

Not all parts of the US are effected by it however. Southern or warmer climates tend to have more problems with it. Here in WA state we had none and then this summer we had 2 human cases and 2 cases in horse's.
