Natural ways to prevent West Nile Virus and mosquitoes?

I just heard that my community has had a large number of reports of West Nile virus. I was a little alarmed as I didn't realize it was such a concern.

Does anyone have any good tips for keeping West Nile virus and mosquitoes away?

I've changed the dogs' outdoor water bowl regularly, and that's the only "standing water." I'd build a bat house but I don't think there are any bats around here.

I've also asked a similar question, referring specifically to dogs, in the dogs forum: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?...

Thanks!

you can plant citronella plants when you go out simply gently crush two or three leaves on each plant.

Garlic pills....I don't know if it's as natural as you want. But if you take them continuosly, after a few months they'll never get near you!!
